Carrak Consulting is pleased to have been consulted on the preparation of two ‘Planning Advice Notes’ being coordinated by the Cornish Chamber of Mines and Minerals (CCMM). These papers aim to provide guidance on these two key topics to both mineral developers and the planning authority in Cornwall.
Carrak Consulting has strong links to the CCMM – we have been a member of the organisation for ten years and our Managing Director has served as the Chair for the last two. In this joint capacity, Carrak Consulting helped to coordinate industry input on practical considerations for the successful application of mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) on new mineral projects in Cornwall. The company also co-drafted the Terms of Reference for a review of the adopted Cornwall Mineral Safeguarding Development Plan Document (2018), to help identify what is needed to make the next Plan reflect current mineral interests and development pressures in Cornwall.
The papers were drafted by Cissbury and BPP Consulting LLP and financed by the Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) ‘Geo-Resources Sector Strengthening Project’, led by the University Exeter. More information can be found HERE.
